In Year One, Miss Reeve and Miss Walton help us every day with our work. We have so much fun learning through play. We are becoming more independent in our work as we start to follow the national curriculum.
Our PE days are Monday and Wednesday.
Spellings and Key Word Key Rings are sent home on a Wednesday. Maths homework comes home on a Friday.
We send a weekly newsletter on a Friday which updates you on everything we are doing in class at the moment, as well as letting you know any key dates or events. Please look out for this in your child's bag
Please don't hesitate to pop in and see us if you have any questions!
This term we are diving into 'Under the Sea'! We will be reading 'The Rainbow Fish' and using 'Finding Nemo' in English, alongside learning all about poetry in Guided Reading. In Science, we are exploring different materials and thinking about the scientific words we can use to describe them. We will then be designing our own boats.
In Music, we are going to be thinking about the sounds of 'Under the Sea'. We will be creating our own music to go over the top of Blue Planet. In History, we will be comparing seaside holidays in the past to our holidays now. As well as all our learning in class, we will be heading on an exciting trip! More information on this will follow
