The safety and wellbeing of our pupils is of the utmost importance. Whether at home or school, online safety is crucial as we want our children to feel safe and act responsibly when engaging with content online. Aware of the ever-changing nature of the online environment, we are striving to strengthen and update the children’s understanding through their computing lessons.
At Mitton Manor, we use the KAPOW primary computing scheme to teach the children about online safety. Our online safety lessons cover 4 key topics:
We also take part in safer internet day each year which involves both in class sessions, as well as whole school assemblies to raise awareness of online safety.
Please find below a parents guide to online safety which has lots of useful tips and guidance for helping to keep your children safe online.
Always be careful when you are using the internet. It can help you to keep in touch with your friends and help your education – but it can also cause harm – to you and to others.
Remember help is always available at school if you are having any problems online.
Don’t be afraid to talk to your teacher or another adult at school.
